Friday Flashback

When my son was 5, he decided, he was not wearing his seat belt.  I drove them, to school for years.

I should have seen, how he would be stubborn make his own path in life.

I was driving the van with hand controls then and now.

He would unbuckle,  I could not make him buckle up.

When we got home, after a few days, of his safety being compromised.

I sat in the van, made him buckle up 50 times.  We counted.  He has buckled up since.

Do you think our heavenly Father, could be thinking the same?   I am doing this for your safety.

Wow, hit the spot on this one. Yeah, things we think are okay, God sees the BIG picture. Great post and reminder. Blessings.

That was a good lesson in buckling up. Why 50, though? And to answer your question - Yes.

I would have just sat in the car without moving until everyone was buckled in. I'd have a paperback handy, just in case.

I have been stubborn with God too many times to count. Thankfully He makes us do things 50 times until we get it right!

That is a great question! I know that I can be awfully stubborn. Just ask my wife. Praise God for His patience!

What a great story. I have a 4 year old grand daughter and she is always getting out of her booster seat. I'm going to try this with her.
I am a new visitor and follower from Over 40 FF. I hope when you get the chance you will stop by and say hello.

Yes, Kim. You are right there. I am sure the way how we, humans, are being so stubborn and do not listen to what He asked us to do and our children are basically doing the same thing as we did when we were children their age towards our parents, there was a point in my life that I talked to God and told Him: "Lord, now I have an understanding how you feel for us."
