I am Thankful for Modern Medicine

Last month mil playing with gson
(he loved wearing a helmet:))

Yesterday they found 3 heart blockages in my mother in law.....they promptly cleared them and placed a stint.

Her father died at the table while eating.....at only 45!  And she is almost 80!

She has been a great role model for me....I am so Thankful for modern medicine!

Research has come a long way in helping people live longer lives.... That is a good thing!!!! Glad your Mother -in-law could get her heart fixed --and can hopefully live many more happy years...

Glad YOU are doing so well with your illness too... Thanks be to God.

Hugs,
Betsy

Glad about your mother-in-law. No doubt, there's a lot to be said in favor of modern medicine. And even if nowadays there are also tragic cases of young people dying suddenly (cardiac arrest) or after a long illness , I suppose statistics are much better now than 30-40 years ago, due to new meds on the market.

Yes, modern medicine is wonderful.

I am also (mostly) grateful. Sometimes I worry that we keep people alive and condemn them to an existence rather than a life.

Happy ending for her!
I assume the grandson wears the helmet in case grandma loses her grip!

I'm thankful for modern medicine, too. I'm so happy that they were able to help your mother-in-law. We have a dear friend who received seven stents a couple of months ago. They did it in two separate procedures. Apparently they don't like to do that many in one sitting.

I always am drawn to older times, but I always say I would not want to give up modern medicines!
